Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars (Xbox 360) - BUY IT !!

Command & Conquer III – Tiberium WarsIt has been over 10 years since we were first rocked by the massive RTS (Real-time-strategy) experience that was Command & Conquer (C&C). Since then we have seen a chain of additions and expansions, all with their unique perspective on warfare, from reshaping the beginnings of WWII, to modern day desert conflict. Now, after several years of quiet waiting, the mother of all RTS is returning.

While rivaled in it’s time by titles such as Dark Reign and Starcraft, C&C swept aside and outlasted the competition with its fast paced action, well-plotted campaigns, dynamic control interface, and of course its video intervals.

The storyline of C&C 3 picks up relatively close to where the last left off. While the story spans 3 separate games, plus expansions, the skinny of it is: An alien mineral impacted with modern day earth. The strange glowing rock (Tiberium), was found to have amazing properties, and was thusly, was quite valuable. A terrorist army known as The Brotherhood of Nod took the opportunity to use the material to finance their accent to power over the currently ruling body, the GDI (Global Defense Initiative), and the war began.

The interesting feel many may get from the game is that it’s not all high-tech. While the graphics and sound are groundbreaking, the game maintains its classic feel and look, including its retro storyline video intervals. The interface, gameplay and pace have all remained quite similar also, which means C&C veterans will love this one as much as they did the original. As expected, there are many new units, with the return of some of the old favorites, as well as an ominous new race. There are 50+ campaign missions this time around also, as well as many different multiplayer maps and types, with customizable AI, meaning players will get a lot of game time.

The game is yet another testament to the C&C RTS lineage. With a great look and feel that is both awe-inspiring and gritty, a massive single player setup and endless multiplayer additions, the game is great for veterans and newcomers alike. If you like real time strategy, you’ll love C&C3.
